The booming Austin real estate market is no secret, but a closer look a look at the numbers reveals that it isn’t only the city proper that is experiencing phenomenal growth. 

In a new report, KVUE News took a look at current real estate data to determine what areas of the city are the fastest growing. What they determined is that more and more families are choosing to find homes in communities outside the Austin city limits.

Austin-area ZIP codes that have sold the most houses so far this year:

  • 78641, Leander: Median home price, $288,083; 1,632 homes sold 

  • 78130, Canyon Lake/New Braunfels: Median home price $240,000; 1,559 homes sold 

  • 78660, Pflugerville: Median home price $268,000; 1,548 homes sold

Austin, Texas - State Capitol Building

While the summer selling season has ended for most housing markets, the Austin Board of REALTORS® latest Central Texas Housing Market Report shows a double-digit percent increase in Austin home sales, which continue to outpace inventory and drive up home prices.

The median price of a single-family home in the city of Austin rose 11.9% this month to $406,000––an all-time high for any September on record.
