Allandale is a nice family-oriented neighborhood in the rapidly growing north central Austin area. Located towards the northwest end of the inner-city, Allandale real estate is bordered by Northwest Hills to the west, Balcones Hills to the southwest, Rosedale to the south, Brentview to the southeast, and Crestview to the east. People are flocking to this area as the benefits are in abundance: affordable homes on spacious lots, expanding infrastructure, top-rated schools and plenty of parks makes Allandale a wonderful place to raise your family. Easy access to Austin's tech corridor and to downtown Austin is why commuters love living here. New shops and restaurants are popping up every day and the most famous movie theater in America, the Alamo Drafthouse is located right in the neighborhood.

Allandale Homes For Sale

Allandale homes for sale can vary greatly in price. Homebuyers can expect to find single family homes were built from the 1960s until about 1978, with a new section of David Weekley homes finished in 1999.  Older homes that have not been remodeled can start as low as $150,000. A remodeled older home can go for as much as $414,000. The newer Weekley built homes can go between $275,000 to $400,000 depending on the size.

There are many multi-family homes as well in Allandale – duplexes, tri-plexes and four-plexs.You can also find units at one of the few condominium complexes in the neighborhood. Prices range from $60,000 to $140,000.

This area of Austin is booming! As the area grow, new shops, stores and attractions are being built all the time. The Domain is just 1 exit away from Allandale Estates. There you will find the best shopping in Austin. Everything from Neiman Marcus to the Apple Store awaits you. One of the best places to buy cowboy boots is at Cavender’s Boots on Burnet Rd. Wal-Mart Grocery, Northcross Shopping Center, and natural grocers Sun Harvest are all walking distance, as well as Stein Mart.

The restaurant scene near Allandale homes for sale gives residents lots of dining options for the entire family. Local favorites include Madam Mam’s (Thai food) which is directly across the street from The Alamo Draft House. Right next door is one of the nicest sports bars in Austin, Cover 3. Starbucks and Waterloo Ice House are all walking distance from Allandale.

Allandale has a playground at Pillow Elementary and the walk around the school is exactly 1 mile. The neighborhood is well known for having underground utilities and sidewalks in certain sections. Folks like living here because it’s the last subdivision south of 183 and it’s still easy to get to downtown using secondary roads. Northwest Pool and Park is located just south of Anderson Lane.  Its outdoor pool was the first 50 meter pool in Austin and was host to the Texas Aquatic Games (TAGS) for many years.
