I am Susan Lissak, a licensed ATX REALTOR® at the Texas-born brokerage JB Goodwin REALTORS®. My top priority is YOU and helping you sell, rent, or find the house you've longed for.

Although I have over two-decades of experience in real estate and have the professionally developed the skills and marketing background to back that up, nothing in life excites me more, or teaches me more that life itself. I am a grateful mother of two grown children who, with their opposite personalities, helped balance me out to become prepared for the life I was dealt; such as becoming quite good at reading people and the ability to resolve conflict and find solutions to problems which is something we could face together in this journey. 

I've had an adventurous life and held many job titles and have learned that it's not about what's on the outside of a person that makes them "rich" but the character they are willing to build within. I'm not perfect, but I sure strive to be. I will be your advocate and encouraging advisor of facts and if you ask my opinion, you can depend on me to shoot it straight with you even when it may be hard. One of my favorite talents is negotiating, which happens to be a lot of fun, and I've got the experience to back that up. 

I grew up at 12 when I left home to study Classical Ballet at the prestigious Julliard School. The training opened the door to my life on the road as a classical ballerina and Broadway performer, debuting at Radio City Music Hall. Later, as a performer on Holland America's 100-day Grand World Cruise, I embraced life at sea. The highlight of my younger years was meeting people from various cultures with diverse backgrounds and traditions who touched and inspired me and remained a motivator in my position as a REALTOR.

Once I landed on dry land, I was blessed with the family I had always dreamed of. I became a kindergarten teacher to children with learning differences. I used my musical theatre background to develop a multi-sensory method to educate and challenge these students and myself. This challenging yet fulfilling career proved beneficial when I became a single mother (not my choice) because I could keep the same hours as my kiddos. My opportunity and introduction to the wonderful world of real estate found me at a time when I needed a place for my children and me to call home. Having only one income now, I was blessed to use the skills and talents acquired and accepted a position at Camden Property Trust, LLC, on the weekends, along with a discounted apartment, while remaining a classroom teacher on weekdays. It's not what I signed up for, but in life, many things are not. It's how we handle the opposition when it tries to take us down that separates good Agents from great! 

My children, now on their own, opened a door for me to relocate where crawfish is king and the king cake is a delicacy, NOLA. I accepted an administrative position at the native brokerage Latter & Blum, which just recently merged with Compass Real Estate. In my administrative capacity, I garnered significant achievements through relentless dedication, savvy risk-taking, and steadfast support to over a hundred agents. Yet, despite the delectable cuisine, I seized an opportunity to relocate 'north' to Austin, Texas, which in a heartbeat became my forever home! 

But wait, the story is not over. My darling husband and biggest fan is a supporter of me in my REAL ESTATE endeavors 100%. In our free time, we play golf at Great Hills Country Club, lounge on our deck, view Austin's picturesque Hill Country, and watch our two dogs play. The latest addition to our family, a Siberian kitten named LaLa, has seamlessly integrated herself into the family, convinced she's one of the canine crew.
