Temple Real Estate Information
Temple is a well-established transit town with a strong location in Central Texas. As such, it enjoys relatively high-employment, low commute times, and a growing population.
Temple is also part of the Killeen–Temple–Fort Hood Metro area, bolstering the economy even further as it supports the many military installations and families nearby. Many of the older homes in Temple tend to be brick and clapboard bungalows, or any variety of 19th to 20th century architectural style in a folk-ranch design. Craftsman, and colonial farmhouse are two such styles that can be found throughout the more well-established Temple neighborhoods.
Newer mid-sized homes tend to be double-storied, with decorative brick and masonry details. Exterior shutters, low and combination hip-and-gable roof configurations, and tall sash windows complete the new-colonial, luxurious farmhouse aesthetic.
Newer, entry level developments offer red brick, hipped roof bungalows along space sidewalks and well-kept front lawns. Such community focused developments have helped to keep the median home price in Temple relatively low when compared to the rest of the country. Cost of living is also relatively low in Temple - so if you're a first time buyer, or someone looking to downsize, then Temple might just be the perfect place to start looking at homes for sale.
