JBGoodwin REALTORS® Discusses Austin's Real Estate Market with Austin American Statesman

jbgoodwinWhen Austin American Statesman asked JBGoodwin REALTORS® to share our expertise on the red hot Austin real estate market and what the future holds for this great city, we were proud to say yes. We've called Austin home since 1972, and we know there's never been a better time to be in the business of helping people find the homes for sale that perfectly fit their needs. Here's a few of the story highlights, as well as a link to read the full feature.

What's the real estate market like in Austin?

Company CEO JB Goodwin started JBGoodwin REALTORS® the day he graduated from the University of Texas Austin, and he's watched Austin grow into one of the most desirable and fastest growing cities in the nation. In total, 60,000 people moved to ATX last year, translating to 160 people per day. There's more demand than supply, revving up the market and driving a lot of new building, especially in an area like The Domain, which is turning into a second downtown. Many of Austin's incoming residents prefer to lease, and JBGoodwin REALTORS® has expertise in the rental market as well. This is a company that does it all.

What lifts JBGoodwin REALTORS® above the competition?

As Austin has grown, JBGoodwin REALTORS® has grown along with it, but the company has never forgotten its core values. “I think what really separates us starts with our motto, and that's to ‘Help People.' Everything we do starts with that core belief,” said Austin native Mark Murrell, Vice President of the company's Westlake division. In other words, “just help people and the money will take care of itself,” added Goodwin. It's a philosophy that helps the company attract a continually growing expert agent base.

What does the future hold for Austin real estate?

There are two keys to a rosy future for Austin real estate: jobs and the ability to expand. People want to work within a two mile radius of home, if possible, so having good primary employment centers will drive neighborhood growth throughout the city. Fortunately, despite its rapid growth, Austin still has a lot of space. For example, both Round Rock and The Domain are thriving communities with land available for future employers. Austin's mix of small town friendliness with big city opportunities will continue to attract new home buyers. As JBGoodwin REALTORS® knows, the city's biggest asset is its friendly people. Loving Austin is key to serving its market well.
