Austinites already know how great the city is, and if you’re thinking of relocating to a family-oriented area, a new study will back up your hunch that Austin is the city for you.
According to ValuePenguin.com, three Texas cities ranked well, and Austin was at the top thanks to scores in the five pillar categories:
- For Working Parents (#10)
- For Buying or Renting a Home (#103)
- For Education and Environment (#3)
- For Outdoor Activities (#17)
- For Safety and Healthcare (#121)
Placing in the top ten for working parents was a result of Austin’s strong economic growth, unemployment rate, and commute time to name a few. In years to come, we could see our city climb the rankings for commute, thanks to number of new mixed developments projects underway.
Time and time again, Austin shines when it comes to academics. Not only can our students attend award winning school districts—like the Austin ISD—but they have in-city access to reputed universities. Our city also excels in Outdoor Activities. Great weather and a number of outdoor parks and arenas boost our rankings in this category.
Where the city could improve is in the areas of affordability and safety and healthcare. While the market is far from the bottom of the affordability scale, Austin’s real estate boom has made it harder for first time home buyer to find exactly the right home at the right price. If you’re in this boat, we’re confident that all you need is the right help. Make sure to check out our recent post on the topic, or start browsing Austin communities, below.
