My passion for "Helping People" propelled me into a challenging and satisfying career in the non-profit sector with local and national non-profit organizations. Positions in fundraising, public relations, marketing, and social work have helped me build a vast array of skills and talents that are fundamental to my work as a successful real estate agent. I think my ability and desire to help meet the needs of others keeps my focus on what’s important: Helping People.
Although I am no longer working in the social services sector, I do continue to volunteer as much as possible and strive to look for new opportunities to support my local community. I believe in the motto of “Do what you love…” so I try to find ways to integrate my work as an agent and my philanthropic efforts because both are so much a part of who I am…and neither feels like a day of work!
I love to travel and tend to seek out new places and people to meet. Whether it’s within the U.S. or across the oceans, my husband and I always soak up the local flavor, traditions, and history of the places we visit. I also enjoy cooking quite a bit, so wherever I am, I enjoy learning about and trying new dishes, which translates to lots of eating! In between meals, running, skiing, fishing, hiking, scuba diving, and even a bit of canyoneering and rock climbing keep us active. But then again, getting lost in a book on history, a historical figure, or even a good cookbook is always a treat.
My father served 20 years in the Air Force, but my mother wanted to remain in San Antonio with her family as much as possible. Consequently, I was the rare Air Force brat who lived in the same state for all but one year of my life...and thankfully, that state is Texas! Although I was born in Kansas, my family returned to Lackland AFB when I was just a year old and eventually, my father retired at Randolph. I moved to Dallas after college, but am now so fortunate to be able to call Austin my home.
