Watching the sunset @ The Oasis!

Contact Melissa

Over the last decade, Austin has become the fastest growing city in the United States.  The real beauty of Austin are the friendly, laid back people who care about preserving its rich culture.  There are abundant greenbelts and waterways that serve as an oasis in the summer.  We are into health and fitness.  We like to keep things local.  Independently owned businesses are preferred over chains and you can find food, clothing, fitness, flea markets, farmer's markets and pop-ups throughout the city!  There is live music every single night of the week!  Choose from hundreds of fabulous food choices--and many of them will allow you to bring your dog to dinner!  Austin loves animals!  Come visit our beautiful city where there are 300 days of sunshine every year.  You'll fall in love...  I did!

With over 40 years experience at JB Goodwin, you can feel confident that my goal is to help you with your real estate goals.  HELP PEOPLE is our company philosophy.  It is simple, you can count on me to listen to your wants and needs and aspire to always do the right thing and the best thing for you.  My job is to guide you through the process and make you aware of the legalities.  Whether you are buying, selling, investing, leasing or renting I can help.  I know the city and I have many resources available to help you with your real estate needs.

I work hard, along with JB Goodwin, at excelling at marketing, paying special attention to details, and looking after your best interest. I view my job as matching people with properties best suited for them and their needs. My passion is providing unmatched customer service when you need it and going out of my way to get things done for you! I can promise I am always available and always in touch throughout the life of your transaction!

In the spring of 2008, I moved to Austin from Kansas City, Missouri. Born and raised in the Midwest I spent weekends cheering on the hometown favorites--the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals. Aside from my hometown heroes, I was quick to leave the cold weather behind and embrace the friendly people here in Texas, the rolling hills, and warm climate of Central Texas!

I began my career in sales and marketing many years ago and never looked back. I have worked selling magazine, radio, and Internet advertising for over 30 years. In 2006 I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from Park University graduating magna cum laude. I am a lifelong member of Alpha Chi - National College Honor Scholarship Society.

My interest in real estate piqued when my philanthropic side mixed with my sales background at A Place for Mom. My sales background and natural empathy were a win-win combination. I'd spent years honing negotiation skills and paying close attention to details that make the difference between a great agent and a mediocre one!

It was especially gratifying helping families find housing solutions for senior citizens. There I learned to assess the needs of individuals before embarking on the journey of guiding them through the process of finding a comforting home where they would thrive. It was the most fulfilling work I've ever done!

I enjoy outdoor activities like nature walks, mountain biking, and swimming at some of the popular watering holes around the area.  My favorites on hot summer days include Pedernales Falls State Park, Barton Springs Pool, and Jacob's Well.  It's a lot of fun to visit Wimberley, Fredericksburg, Luckenbach, and Johnson City for a nice day trip and to explore some fascinating Texas history!  My brother is a private pilot, who owns an airplane, so we often fly to San Antonio, Corpus Christi, South Padre Island and even Big Bend National Park and New Orleans for a fun weekends.  Texas is a great place to live--there are so many things to do and see in this great state!  There are farmer's markets, lavender fields, museums, botanical gardens, and libraries to explore. I also enjoy reading, writing and watching true crime on television.  Recently I adopted a grey cat named Jack who keeps me entertained while at home!

Home Sweet Austin!

Having lived in both south and north Austin, I have the advantage of knowing the whole city well. Many years ago, I fell in love with the beauty, music, and people of the city. Seduced by the allure of all Austin has to offer--the laid-back vibe of Austinites, plentiful nature settings, the Central Texas warm-weather climate, a robust music scene, amazing food experiences and the prolific health and fitness vibe, I am here to stay and hope to welcome you to Texas and help you with the sale and/or purchase of your next home!
