I was raised in a military family on various bases in America and Germany before moving to Austin to attend UT and earn my B.A. degree, which means I moved a lot (for example, I attended three different high schools!). I taught German and English to high school and college students before completing a Master’s in Counseling and Guidance, and then worked as the Director of a holistic wellness center for people with HIV/AIDS. What an amazing experience!
Following that, I landed my first corporate gig and earned certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources, working in various industries including environmental engineering, pension administration, real estate investment, high-tech, agriculture, and the law. I also worked privately with clients as a Wellness Facilitator and have taken all of that customer service-related experience into real estate (following in the footsteps of other family members). As a long-time Austin resident, I get very excited showing off our city to recent arrivals and helping longer-term residents see it in a new light as they change homes or explore investment property.
When I'm not working, I'm enjoying the great outdoors right here in our fair city or in the outlying areas. Walking, cycling and hiking are my favorite activities but if I'm feeling particularly adventurous, I'll head to the beach or mountains. You also might find me at the bowling alley (what me, competitive?)!
Central Texas is a great location! Let me know how I can help you make this your home, sweet home! I offer a different approach to real estate, regardless of what side of the transaction you're on: selling...with soul.

We were lucky to work with Maria Benning on the purchase of our first home. We wouldn't have had our bid accepted in this competitive market without her. Maria noticed that the home we wanted showed obvious signs of having been dearly loved, and suggested that we include a short letter and family picture along with our bid to express how much we loved the house.
When we arrived at our new home after signing, we found a note on the mantle from the previous owner saying, "I had several offers at the same time as yours. I wanted you to know that your letter was instrumental in me choosing your family to purchase my home. When you wrote that you and your family would love the house as much as I obviously did, that sealed the deal for me."
We had no idea that it was this detail that got us the house, or that there were several other offers that came in at the same time as ours! Maria is strategic, resourceful, intuitive, and a joy to work with. I recommend her if you are in the market for purchasing a home. – Sarah Morgan
Maria treated us so well after we had just been kicked while we were down. Because of her hard work we have a great place to live and fewer worries. We always felt like we were working with a member of our family that only wanted the best for us. That means so much, so thank you for what you have done for Kathy and me.
– Rick Juliano
Maria was great! Now we are happy home owners!

Maria Benning helped us locate a lease home in Round Rock. It is our first time to be renters in over 30 years. She was patient, informative, readily available and courteous. She made what could have been a terrible process as simple as pie. Thank you,
– Kathy Juliano
It was a pleasure to work with Maria to find my new home in Austin. She was punctual and efficient, she helped me understand the pros and cons of various neighborhoods, and at my request she introduced me to interior decorators when I had settled on a place. I recommend her wholeheartedly. – Richard Albert, UT Law

After doing Reconnective Healing with Maria, I have a sense of being more in tune with a higher consciousness and am more willing to ask for guidance. I’ve allowed my life to slow down drastically, to uncover areas of hurt that need to be addressed. I’m not as afraid as I used to be. I’m more open to the possibilities of healing the parts that need to be healed. The Reconnection is part of my journey towards that healing. – Sharon S., Software Engineer
