Hello. My name is David. I am a 21-year Air Force veteran originally from Mount Airy, North Carolina (the hometown of Andy Griffith). My wife and I have two beautiful and wonderfully talented daughters. We are dog lovers and adopt our fur babies from local rescue shelters. (Mutts make the best pets).
As a realtor, I am passionate about providing Extraordinary Service to every client, especially to veterans and their families. During my 21-year military career, I experienced the unique challenges of frequent moves military families face and the decisions of whether to buy or sell a home.
I am a strong advocate of giving back to the local community. I throughout my career, I have volunteered with various non-profit organizations. At JB Goodwin, our guiding principle is "Help People". This commitment to our community is one of the many reasons why I am proud to be a JB Goodwin realtor.
I consider myself a life-long learner. I am a dual certified HR professional and adult educator. After my military career, I taught HR and Business courses for 12 years for two different universities. I recently completed my Master’s in Education at the University of Texas-San Antonio (UTSA). I enjoy a variety of interests which include history, museums, college basketball (especially “March Madness”), movies, sporting events (GO SPURS GO), home rehab shows, and Pork BBQ.
I recently started a new hobby - gardening. Learning about various flowers, soil types, and plant care is useful in educating homeowners about curb appeal options. Curb appeal adds value to a home and creates a visually pleasing landscape which helps the home to sell faster.
As a Realtor, I have four personal guiding principles:
Build Trust, Demonstrate Integrity, Provide Extraordinary Service, and Achieve Excellence.
My goal is to assist clients in every way possible to make the sale or purchase of their home less stressful. Please take a moment to read the testimonials and let me know how I can be of service to you. Thank you for your time. I look forward to earning your trust.

I was associated with David from 2008 – 2019 while he served at the University of Phoenix - San Antonio Campus - as an adjunct faculty member. David was actively involved with several community and professional organizations. He served as the 2020 Director of the South Texas HR Symposium and has been an active member of the International Coaching Federation. He also assists transitioning military service members with resume review and interview skills as they prepare to enter the civilian workforce. I know David to be a passionate, skilled strategist who is innovative in transforming strategic plans into workable solutions. – Wally Hedgecock
I had the pleasure of Mr. Riggs’s presence in my Research Methods Course, EDU 5003, at UTSA in the Spring of 2016. His good works and consistent efforts created a strong foundation for his family and represented his willingness to assist classmates grappling with the course material, both in-class and when working in groups on course projects. Many people talk the talk when it comes to helping others, but David truly lives by a personal credo of service to others. Mr. Riggs also takes the time to meet with the faculty and staff to find ways to improve his academic performance, to find ways to increase his professional and personal development, and to build his professional network. David consistently comports himself as a mature, genuine, and respectful person in all his interactions with faculty, staff, administrators, guests, and classmates. He is the epitome of what I define as a professional, and I know I am not alone in my assessment of his qualities.

David was a graduate student in the IST Program at the University of Texas-San Antonio. As his academic advisor and instructor, I have personally witnessed David’s hard work in the classroom and his positive interaction with his classmates. He is a creative and enthusiastic individual who deeply cares about education and engagement, and the integration of these two elements in educational setting and the workplace. His passion for advancing the human resource profession is evident in his presentations and classroom discussions.

As a Lead Instructor at the University of Phoenix, I had the opportunity to observe Mr. Riggs teach various Human Resource courses. He was always well prepared and explained the topic content in a way that was relatable. He never settled for good enough. Instead, he pushed himself and his students to go beyond the minimum requirements. His ability to connect with students and his thoughtful questions made his classes interesting and engaging.

I am writing this letter to give my highest possible recommendation for Mr. David Riggs. During his time with the University of Phoenix as an associate faculty member, Mr. Riggs displayed a thorough comprehension of business, human resource, and organizational development/management concepts, critical thinking skills, and problem-solving. He demonstrated excellent instructional ethics while exemplifying astute interpersonal skills.
